What is the Nurturing Programme?
Children are rewarding, stimulating and fun, but looking after them can be
stressful and challenging.

The Nurturing Programme helps deal with those challenges so
that you can have a calmer, happier life.

A tried and tested programme, it helps us think about what we do,
why we do it and how it makes us feel.

What does it cover?
Over the 10-week Programme, you will look at lots of different topics, including:
Understanding why children behave as they do

Recognising the feelings behind behaviour (ours and theirs)
Exploring different approaches to discipline

Finding ways to develop co-operation and self-discipline in children
Learning the importance of looking after ourselves

Update regarding Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete NPT

Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) – Neath Port Talbot Council statement

Neath Port Talbot councillors have been told that following a comprehensive review it is believed none of the county borough’s schools have RAAC. On Friday, September 1st, 2023, the Welsh Government confirmed that so far there have been “no reported cases” of the concrete in education buildings across the country.

However, it said it has commissioned a survey of “all state funded schools and colleges which will identify any structures suspected of containing Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete”.

Consultation School Session Times for September 2023

Statement regarding Changing School Sessions Times for St Joseph’s Catholic Infant School

Dear Parents and Carers,

Following the success of an earlier start to school day during Covid times, school propose a change to school session times from September 2023.

Proposal from 4th September 2023:

School would start at 8:40

School would finish at 2:50

This earlier start would allow children to continue to use Breakfast Club. The earlier finish would allow a ten-minute window to collect older children from St Joseph’s Junior School. These new session times would result in the main body of teaching and learning being carried out in the earlier part of the day.

Our love and prayers for the loss of a very loving, gentle member of our school community

We send our love and prayers to Mrs Maria Ejimofor, her husband Alex and their children.

Maria’s son David, sadly lost his life in a tragic accident on Monday evening. Our school and parish community are praying for the repose of David’s soul. We also hold the Ejimofor family in our prayers at this very sad time.

St Joseph pray for them.

The Ejimofor Family wish for as many people as possible to sign and share their petition for better safety measures at Aberavon Beach. Please click on the link below.
