Pupils working together with our community to create collaboratively, authentic learning environments.

Missio Schools Council have coordinated collecting children’s ideas to redesign our outside space. These amazing ideas were discussed by Missio and with Mr Callum Boucher, F.C.A Contractors Ltd and father of Frankie, Alfie and Freddie.

After our Eastertide Assembly, Alfie shared the exciting work his father had been doing in school during the Easter holidays.

Our thanks to Mr Sam Owen of The Skills Academy from JES Group, and father of Sophia Owen. Sam a past pupil, organised for a team of apprentices to help prepare the ground work before we broke for Easter. The apprentices, included past pupils Josef O’Callaghan, Nash Lewis along with Sam Gardner and Brynley Thomas did a fantastic job.

Collaboratively Creating Effective Environments

After planning session, Callum used pupil’s ideas to draft a design. Popular ideas included reinstating the tree houses, creating a spy station and a stage. During the Easter holidays Callum worked a miracle transforming a building site into what is now an amazing space for children to use to develop imaginative, creative ideas, connect and apply knowledge and skills and solve problems.

The children screamed with delight exploring the new learning area. Using their imagination the space could be a “spy station, a tree house, a stage, a ship, a crow’s nest…”
